Cascades Casino Delta for First-Timers
This page is for readers whose first casino trips start at Starlight in New Westminster. It covers Cascades Casino Delta: where it sits, how far away it is, when it opens and what the floor holds. It also says plainly what this guide does not list.
Where it is and what it holds
Cascades Casino Delta is at 6005 Highway 17A, Delta, BC V4K 5B8. It sits in the Ladner area, beside the Highway 99 and 17A interchange near the Massey Tunnel. From central New Westminster it is 15.1 km in a straight line. The figure runs straight between two points on a map, not along any road. By that measure it is number 5 of the nine Metro Vancouver casinos on this guide.
Gateway Casinos & Entertainment runs the room, which opened on September 29, 2022. Unlike Starlight, which is open 24 hours a day, Cascades is not open overnight. Casino hours are Sunday to Thursday 11AM to 12AM, and Friday and Saturday 11AM to 2AM. Live tables, meaning games with a real dealer, open later in the day. They run Sunday 2PM to 12AM, Monday to Thursday 4PM to 12AM, Friday 4PM to 2AM and Saturday 2PM to 2AM.
It is a smaller floor than Starlight. Cascades has 18 live table games, electronic table games played on a screen, and more than 500 slot machines. Starlight lists 54 live table games and more than 935 slot machines. There are no poker tables at Cascades, while Starlight has a seven-table poker room.
Before you walk in at Cascades
- The door rule comes first: you must be 19 or older. Security scans government-issued photo ID for every person entering and checks it against the list of restricted people, such as those enrolled in Game Break. If you are allowed inside, your personal details are not kept by the system.
- There is no poker room at Cascades. A first poker night belongs at Starlight in New Westminster, which has a seven-table room off the main floor.
- Food and drink come from three places on site: The Buffet, Summit Bar and MATCH Eatery & Public House.
- A hotel shares the site: Delta Hotels Vancouver Delta (Marriott). Encore Rewards is a free loyalty card, a membership card the casino offers its guests, and you sign up at Guest Services with valid ID.
- The casino is accessible to guests with disabilities. Wheelchairs, accessible formats and communication supports are available on request, and the phone number is 604-921-3200.
