Cascades Casino Langley, a First Visit

This page is for someone whose casino trips start at Starlight in New Westminster and who wonders about Cascades in Langley. It covers where the room sits, how it differs, the door rule and the trip there and back.

Part 1

Where Cascades Sits and What It Holds

Cascades Casino Langley is at 20393 Fraser Highway, Langley, BC V3A 7N2. It is 21.6 km from central New Westminster, measured as a straight line between map points, not by road. Of the nine Metro Vancouver casinos in this guide, it is the farthest by that measure. Gateway Casinos & Entertainment runs it, and it opened in 2005.

Like Starlight, Cascades is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Its poker room opens at 9AM daily. At Starlight, poker runs from 11AM to late Sunday to Thursday, and around the clock on Friday and Saturday.

Inside, the floor has more than 1,000 slots, 28 live table games and a 6-table poker room. Starlight lists 54 live table games and more than 935 slot machines, so Langley has about half the tables. There is also the Crystal Room, a separate area for higher-stakes slots, meaning machines that take bigger bets. Bingo, both paper and electronic, runs Thursday to Sunday, and this guide does not list session times.

Part 2

Before You Walk In

  1. You must be 19 or older and carry valid government-issued photo ID. Security scans it at the door and checks it against a list of people restricted from entering, such as those enrolled in Game Break. If you are let in, the system does not save your personal information.
  2. Poker has its own room here, with 6 tables, opening at 9AM daily. In a poker room, players play against each other while a dealer runs the game.
  3. Food and drink come from MATCH Eatery & Public House and Glacier Bar, among others.
  4. Next door, at the same address, is the Coast Langley City Hotel & Convention Centre. The old 420-seat Summit Theatre closed in early 2018 and became a bingo hall.
  5. Encore Rewards is the name of the loyalty card here. A loyalty card is a free membership card that the casino links to your visits.
Part 3

Getting There and Getting Home

The Langley Centre bus exchange is next to the casino, about 130 to 190 m away in a straight line. This guide does not list casino parking details. The adjoining hotel says parking is free for hotel and convention guests.

Plan the way home before you leave New Westminster, especially for a late night. Never drive after drinking. Settle on the bus, a ride or a sober driver before the first drink arrives.

Questions
Is Cascades Casino Langley open all night?

It is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, just like Starlight. The poker room has its own start time and opens at 9AM daily.

Does SkyTrain go to Cascades Casino Langley?

SkyTrain does not reach the casino yet. The Surrey Langley SkyTrain will extend the Expo Line 16 km, from King George Station to 203 Street. Service is expected in late 2029, and its Langley City Centre station will be next to the casino. Until then, the Langley Centre bus exchange sits next door.
