Great Canadian Casino Vancouver, in Coquitlam
Great Canadian Casino Vancouver sits in Coquitlam, not Vancouver. This page is for someone whose first casino trips start in New Westminster. It covers the address, the table hours, the floor and the ID check at the door.
Where it is and what is inside
The name misleads people. Great Canadian Casino Vancouver is at 2080 United Boulevard, Coquitlam, BC V3K 6W3. From central New Westminster it is 5.9 km in a straight line between two map points. That is not a road distance. Of the nine Metro Vancouver casinos in this guide, it is the second closest by that measure, after Starlight.
Hours work differently here. The casino publishes live table hours only: Monday to Thursday 10AM to 4AM, then from Friday 10AM straight through to Monday 4AM. It does not publish general opening hours for the whole floor. Starlight, by contrast, is open 24 hours a day, every day of the year.
Inside, the floor counts more than 920 slots, 37 live table games and 42 electronic table machines. A live table has a human dealer; an electronic table machine is a screen version of a table game. There are also Privé high-limit rooms for slots and for tables, meaning separate areas for larger bets. Starlight lists 54 live table games and more than 935 slots, so it runs more live tables.
Before you walk in
- You must be 19 or older. Security scans government-issued photo ID at the door for everyone, and the system does not save personal information for people let in.
- Poker players get 10 tables here, three more than Starlight's seven. The poker room is open Monday to Thursday 10AM to 4AM and 24 hours Friday to Sunday.
- Food comes from four places: Gordon Ramsay Burger, the Asylum pub, Chopsticks Noodle House and Rock House Grill. Asylum also has free live music on Friday and Saturday at 9PM.
- Encore Rewards is the loyalty programme, a membership card offered to guests. The room also has its own stage, The Show Theatre.
- Since May 5, 2026 the casino has been owned and operated by Petroglyph Development Group, owned by Snuneymuxw First Nation. The Great Canadian name is used under a limited licence.
